Gone

The last child has flown the nest and the house is now very quiet. The dog sits by the front door...waiting for her people to spill in bringing their friends with them. I miss them, but am glad they are settled in their respective schools and happy. This last week was such a busy one, that I haven't had much time to dwell on their being gone. Later...

Well, it's that time of year again, a new school year. I always find it exciting, new people to meet , catching up with old friends after a long summer rest, Iam glad to get back to work. I love the start of a new school year, a new beginning, exciting possibilities, fun! fun! fun!

STUFF!

The kids are off to college in two weeks- Ashley back to appalachian and Michael to LeesMcrae. We have been buying stuff for school at little at a time over the summer ,and it has begun to mount up. Everybody thinks about the big stuff- bed lines, t.v.s , refrigerators, but it's the small stuff that never ends- q-tips, shampoo, nail clippers, band-aids etc. We are basically setting up two new households. Now they just have to pack everything ,and we will be ready to go. Ashley is excited and Michael is both excited and a little nervous- ready for his new adventure!
